The Young Entrepreneur Expo is a fun annual event where aspiring students learn what it takes to be business leaders of tomorrow! This annual event, typically held in Spring, is a partnership between the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce and La Porte ISD.
Youth are provided with free educational materials through the support of generous local sponsors. They are taught, with the help of parents, teachers, and mentors how to set goals, create a product, prepare a budget, seek an investor, choose a location, design a marketing plan, and provide customer service. On YEE day, the young entrepreneurs open for business at Baker 6th Grade Campus. They keep the money they earn and are encouraged to spend some, save some for the future, and share some by giving to a local charity of their choice.
