It all started for us in March 1949 when we were chartered as DuPont La Porte Federal Credit Union. By 2005, we were officially Beacon Federal Credit Union. But what has never changed is our commitment to providing courteous, efficient and sound financial services for our members, now and into the future.

We've evolved into a full-service financial institution offering an array of member-focused products and services to help our 16,000+ members achieve their financial goals. Each member has an equal share of ownership in the credit union, which now has more than $140 million in assets.

USI Federal Credit Union was organized in 1959 as a non-profit financial cooperative. The purpose of the Credit Union’s was to serve the employees of USI and their families and today we continue the tradition.

Credit Union members are the actual owners of the credit union. When you deposit money into your account, you are buying shares in your credit union. You share in the credit union earnings in the form of dividends and benefits.
