Around La Porte Community News is the brainchild of long-time La Porte resident Margaret Anderson-Eddy. Since the closing of the Bayshore Sun, many La Porte citizens complained to Maggie of the loss of such an important source of information on La Porte happenings. Several people suggested that she should start a newspaper, and - thankfully - convinced her she could do it.
Printed newspapers may be a dying industry, but not, she felt, in our small community. And from the reception Around La Porte has received, she was correct.
With its first issue released in September 2011, Around La Porte continues to exist to keep the citizens of La Porte informed about what's happening Around La Porte! We welcome your articles about local happenings.
