Harris County Precinct 2 is currently repairing several County maintained asphalt streets throughout the City. The project has an estimated four-month project schedule. Some major streets expected to be repaved include: East Main Street, West Main Street, North Broadway; and South 8th Street. Contractors are currently milling South 8th Street, between East Main and Fairmont Parkway. Milling operations on South 8th Street began late this week. Resurfacing is expected to begin early next week, with completion expected by the end of next week. Milling operations on West Main Street, from State Highway 146 to Broadway Street, are expected to begin early next week, with completion expected within two weeks. City staff is coordinating with Harris County staff to timely forecast construction schedules, with intentions to provide forecasted construction updates.
