In 1955 the La Porte–Bayshore Chamber of Commerce organized the very first Sylvan Beach Festival as a way for local businesses and residents to come together and share in a day of fun and festivity. Over the past 68 years, through the continued partnership with the City of La Porte, the Festival has grown to become the largest annual event in the city drawing in crowds from across the great state of Texas and beyond.
Rooted in the spirit of Sylvan Beach’s glory days crowds can still enjoy fantastic music, food, carnival rides and games, scholarship pageant, parade and also a delicious BBQ cook-off. 2025 also marks the 7th consecutive year the Chamber of Commerce will be donating a portion of all Corporate Sponsorships back to local scholarships.
